This hand-painted sculpture on canvas is ready to hang on the wall
This work shows Gustave Courbet's work "le désespéré" in a completely different light, taking us on a journey through time and talent
The work is a self-portrait by Gustave Courbet, who depicts himself frontally, in close-up, with his mouth half-open and his gaze plunging into that of the viewer. His eyes are wide open, and his two hands seem to be pulling out his hair. The pallor of his face contrasts with the blackness of his hair and beard, reinforced by the whiteness of his shirt
This painting is called "Gustave Courbet's Desperate " and is kept at the National Museum in Oslo. It has been exhibited in Paris at the Musée D'Orsay, in New York and in Montpellier.
In my canvas sculpture, I wanted to pay tribute to this masterpiece by reinventing it in my own way
