The work of the artist painter sculptor Virginie SCHROEDER

I use lines and geometric shapes to create works that are both technical and playful.

The development of my art comes from a reflection on the geometry of forms.

The resulting creations seek to intrigue and raise questions through their abstract appearance, which can be seen at first glance, but whose portrait or chosen subject becomes clearer as the observation continues. I want to create a dialogue between the work and the public.

My work begins with a realistic sketch of my subject, which I then cut out and destructure, before applying a textured medium to delineate the lines.

I then superimpose different layers of acrylic, applying the colours with a syringe and reworking them with a knife.

Once I am satisfied with this meticulously created harmony, I scrape the medium to reveal the final composition.

The mix of bright and fluorescent colors allows me to create contrasts that emphasize the vibration of the lines and give depth to the subject.
