What is street art?

Street art is a form of artistic expression that takes place in public spaces.

It encompasses all creations made in the street, on walls, sidewalks, billboards, vehicles or any other urban support.

Street art originated in the United States in the 1960s, with the first graffiti and tags marking gang territory.

It has since spread throughout the world, with artists using a variety of techniques including stencils, stickers, mosaics, collage, spray paint and rollers.

Art inspired by the street?

The aim of street art is to convey a message, whether political, social, humorous or aesthetic. It can be protesting, challenging, provocative or simply decorative. It can be ephemeral or long-lasting, authorized or illegal, anonymous or signed.

Street art is a living art form, constantly renewing itself and adapting to its environment. It is often considered a popular art form, accessible to all.

How do my works evoke street art?

My work blends several artistic trends such as street art, pop art, kinetic art, abstract art and lenticular art.

What I like about street art is that it’s a lifestyle for artists who seek to reappropriate art in a different way, transfiguring the banal into the exceptional.

It’s a way of conveying powerful messages, of denouncing or admiring our society, of provoking or expressing ideas – in short, of expressing oneself freely. It’s a way of touching the senses and emotions through painting or sculpture. These messages are accessible to all, allowing us to interpret them freely with our hearts and convictions.

In my work, street art is often introduced in a gentle way, to wink or deliver positive messages.

Street art is normally done on walls in public spaces, using spray paint. In my work, I of course use this technique, but I twist it by adding dimension to the material.

To conclude,

I revisit icons that have marked eras and minds to give them a contemporary life today.

These icons have charisma and strong messages to convey.

All you have to do is dive into my 3-dimensional lines and let yourself be carried away by the colors and textures to decipher all the emotional details.

I’ll let you discover on my site all the works evoking icons and street art and I wish you lots of pleasure in discovering them.
